Hamish Gould Masters Recital 2019: The Corporeal Countertenor

This recital takes a journey through contemporary countertenor arias, spanning from 1960 to the present day. In asking the question: “what is it to be corporeal, and what is it to convey this aspect of humanity in the countertenor voice?”, Hamish Gould covers the gamut of contemporary countertenor roles, ranging from angels and fairies to warriors and madmen. It will feature works by Britten, Dove, Nikojevic, McQueen and many others.
